This is a mixed media piece with linoprint and embroidery, on a slightly creamy 150 gsm Clairefontaine paper measuring roughly 6x8 inches.  
 
The piece was inspired by the beautiful floor tiles in old houses in India. I reimagined chequerboard floors with engravings of typical motifs in the culture of eastern India where I'm from, such as mango leaves, betel leaves, etc. I added embroidery to create a sense of 
 
Linoprinting is a relief printing process, in which an image is carved onto a sheet of compressed linseed oil (or similar material), inked and printed. Multiple copies can be printed as a result of the process. I will limit the number of varied editions to 20, and each piece will be unique as a result of hand-printing and additional embellishment. 
 
I will ship the print carefully packed with hard backing for protection. I may use recycled packaging.
