Hello! This is me, Kaushani, the founder of Carnivalfish. I am a self-taught artist/printmaker and writer, currently living in London.

I was born in India, where I spent half my life as a professional writer, writing and making digital art for businesses and musicians. During the world-changing events of 2019/2022 I made huge changes in my life too. I got married, moved to London, started my own business at Carnival Fish Design and I started putting more hours into the novel I'd been working on for centuries.

What I love about art is that I'm allowed to experiment and fail, and through it I want to connect with people in unfamiliar ways. I also love that I can wear different hats in running a shop, and live out my workday with an element of honesty.

In my prints and illustrations, I explore the subjects of identity, memory, mental health, and most of all, of the spaces we inhabit.

I'm sometimes asked, why Carnival Fish? I've been drawn to the concept for years, moved by the whimsy of carnival goldfish that are carried off into different homes - and who knows how their stories turn out.
